It's art, Jim, but not as we know it.

It was a very strange sense of confusion followed by aspiration that came over me in the last few days.

I think I have mentioned the wish to "get in touch" with my artistic side - assuming, that is, that I have one!  It is at least moving forward (at a snail's lack-of-pace) in the languages area (where in the last 2 days, I've learned to read and write 15 words in my mother-tongue - in which I am currently illiterate).

The article gave an insight into the motives of artists and also reminded me of something of the "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" - the essence of quality.  If you haven't read "ZATAOMM" - do!  I guess that is what I am aiming for.  A whole-brained scientific/artistic ideal with most importantly a High Quality result.

Speaking of which, there is the link back to Islam.  The combination of art and science (at least mathematics) at the heart of a lot of the early Islamic art and architecture.  I was very fortunate to receive a gift about geometric patterns from Islam by Eric Broug.  This will be an area which I explore...
